Duration of Tour : 19 Nights / 20 Days
Day 01: Delhi
Destination Covered : Delhi - Khajuraho - Agra - Jaipur - Jodhpur - Udaipur - Aurangabad - Mumbai - Madurai - Chettinad - Tanjore - Trichy - Madras.
On arrival at the Delhi IGI airport late in the evening, you will be welcome by our tour operators. After that they will transfer you to the hotel. Relax there. Overnight stay will be at Delhi.
Day 02: Delhi
Lakshmana Temple - Khajuraho
In the morning, we will take you to the sightseeing tour of Old Delhi and New Delhi where you can explore the famous forts and historical monuments like Lal Quila, Qutub Minar, and Rajghat etc. Overnight stay will be at the hotel.
Day 03: Khajuraho
This morning we will take a flight to Khajuraho.
Khajuraho - In the afternoon you will explore the little town known the world-over for its Nagara style of temple architecture and erotic sculpture. On arrival at Khajuraho, you will be transfer to the hotel. Later take a tour of the Eastern and Western groups of temples known for their erotic carvings. The Kendriya Mahadev Temple
is the best known of the Khajuraho Temples.
Overnight will be at Khajuraho.
Day 04: Agra
After having breakfast, get ready to take a train to Agra. On arrival at Agra, we will shift you in the Hotel. You will arrive in Agra in the evening and retire for the day.
Day 05: Agra
Today we will do sightseeing tour of Agra. Visit the following places:-
Sikandra Tomb- Emperor Akbar's Mausoleum, situated 4 kms. from Agra. After that visit the romantic place i.e. Taj Mahal - one of the Seven Wonders of the World. It was built by a Muslim, Emperor Shah Jahan in the memory of his dear wife and Queen Mumtaz Mahal at Agra, India. It is an "elegy in marble" or some say an expression of a "dream."
Also visit Agra Fort, which is built in red sandstone and exemplifies Mughal architecture. The Agra fort houses Jahangir Mahal, Khas Mahal, Sheesh Mahal and Diwan-e-Am. Return to your hotel room and are comfortable. Relax overnight in the hotel.
Day 06: Jaipur
In the morning, have some breakfast and get ready to start your journey to Jaipur -the pink capital of Rajasthan enroute visiting to Fatehpur Sikri a perfectly preserved Mughal city built at the height of the empire's splendor. After arrival to the Jaipur, you will be transferred to your hotel by our representative. Rest of the day will be free for your own activities. Overnight stay will be at hotel.
Day 07: Jaipur
First of all, we will visit the most famous Amber Fort, which is situated on the hilltop. Ride on the elephant's back to reach to majestic fort. Within the fort there are many palaces and royal buildings. Spend the day exploring the wonders of Amber Fort. Also visit Hawa Mahal, Jantar Mantar, and City Palace etc. Enjoy shopping spree in the evening in rich and lively local markets in Jaipur city. Overnight stay will be in the hotel.
Day 08: Jodhpur
Jaswant Thada - Jodhpur
In the early morning, get ready to proceed for Jodhpur which is a beautiful sprawling white washed city under the ceaseless vigil of a massive fort of sheer rocky eminence. Reach and check in at hotel. Overnight stay will be at the hotel.
Day 09: Jodhpur
In the early morning, we will go for a village safari in the jeep and have a rare glimpse into the rich culture and true essence of India. Afternoon sightseeing tour of Jodhpur -gateway to the desert beyond, home of the Rathors of Marwar, visit the Mehrangarh Fort, rising up a hilly scarp, built on the advice of a hermit, overlooking the city in the image of a long sentinel. Overnight stay will be at the Jodhpur hotel.
Day 10: Udaipur
Today, you drive to Udaipur.
En route you will visit Ranakpur - the largest and most beautifully preserved Jain Temples in India. After visiting Ranakpur you will proceed to see the fort of Kumbalgarh. If Ranakpur is beauty and grace, Kumbalgarh is all about power.
You will arrive in Udaipur late in the afternoon. The rest of the day will be at leisure.
Day 11: Udaipur
In the morning, after having some breakfast, we will take you for the sightseeing tour of Udaipur. Visit the following places: - Maharana's palace, Island palace, Fateh Sagar Lake, Pratap smarak, Kala mandal museum, Kumbhalgarh fort etc. Overnight stay will be at the hotel.
Day 12: Aurangabad
Ajanta Caves - Aurangabad
Today, you will be escorted to the airport for your flight to Bombay where you will arrive to connect to your flight for Aurangabad. We will arrive Aurangabad late in the evening, check into the hotel to retire for the day.
Day 13: Aurangabad
Today we will explore the caves of Ajanta, which offer a rich tapestry of images that speak of palaces, royalty, cultures and tales of everyday life of ancient India. Long buried in the debris of time, these 30 caves were built to offer seclusion to the Buddhist monks, who lived, taught and performed rituals. Enjoy visiting these places. Overnight stay will be at the hotel.
Day 14: Mumbai
This morning we will take you to explore Ellora caves which is carved between fourth and fifth century, the rock temples and monasteries of Ellora represent the three major faiths of India - Hinduism, Buddhism and Jainism. Like Ajanta, Ellora caves too are a fine example of cave temples with almost 34 caves with intricate interiors and ornamental facades.
Later in the evening you will take your flight for Bombay where you spend the night before starting your tour of South India.
Day 15: Madurai
On this day, we will continue our tour to South India. We will fly in the morning to Madurai where you arrive before noon. Madurai also called 'city of celebrations'. Meenakshi Amman temple is the second largest temple in India. Different episodes of demons, animals also found expressions in the temple. They are still intact. Nayak mahal bears the Rajasthani and Indo-serasenic architectural style. There you can watch attractive sound and light show narrating the glorious days of the Nayak kings. You can walk up and down the temple, take to visit the temple.
Overnight stay will be at the hotel.
Day 16: Chettinad
Brihadeeshwara Temple - Tanjore
After a leisurely breakfast, we will drive to Chettinad, which is known for its artistic houses.
Spend the afternoon exploring the palace and around for its unique architecture. Overnight will be at Madurai.
Day 17: Tanjore / Trichy
This morning we will drive to Tanjore. Also called a city of temples, Tanjore is dotted with no fewer than 74 temples - the most famous of which is the Brihadeshwar temple. Continue drive to Trichy.
The town of Trichy is another small place of South India, which is littered with innumerable evidence of the region's excellence in art and architecture.
In the evening, explore the city including spectacular Rock Fort Temple. Overnight will be at the hotel.
Day 18: Madras
This morning we will take a train ride to Madras - your last destination of the tour. Madras is a fascinating city with its ancient temples and unique culture, golden sandy beaches and a marvelous tradition of music and dance. Explore this lovely city in the afternoon, immediately after arriving at the station. After the short city tour you will check into your hotel, which is a beach hotel outside Madras city. Overnight stay will be at the hotel.
Day 19: Madras
Today will be spent in visiting two of the finest examples of ancient South Indian architecture - Kanchipuram and Mahabalipuram. Rest of the day will be free for last minute shopping. Overnight stay will be at the hotel.
Day 20: Madras
This will be the last day of the Rajasthan Forts and Palaces tour. The day will be spent in leisure. In the evening you will be hosted a farewell dinner before being escorted to the domestic terminal for flight to Delhi for return. Hope you remember the tour in your whole life.
